  • Intercultural topics

After obtaining her degree as a state-certified interpreter and translator,Maria Schottenheimer started out working in the private business sector before moving to the United States of America.

There, she gathered knowledge and expertise in the international finance industry, human resources management and psychology. After being employed at the College of Business Administration of Florida International University in Miami, Florida, for several years, she worked mainly in the financial sector.

After approx. 10 years working experience in the US, Maria moved to Munich/Germany, where she continued to work in the financial sector and simultaneously obtained a degree in business management.

Since 1997 Maria has been employed in a Human Resources Management capacity – mainly in the financial sector – with her focal point being the consulting of international and domestic clients in all questions of HR management, such as establishing new branches, foreign expat assignments, restructurings as well as the consulting of managers and employees.

When Maria became acquainted with the systemic coaching approach several years ago, she realized that this would be an even more focused and effective way to support and foster the managers and colleagues in her professional environment regarding the numerous challenges  people are confronted with in their daily personal and professional lives.

This further motivated Maria to initiate her training as systemic coach at the institution “Die Coaching Akademie München” and to expand her coaching activities.

Maria’s clients benefit from her long-standing experience as a manager and HR professional in dealing with persons of various intercultural origins and professional backgrounds and hierarchy levels.

As part of her professional activities, Maria has for many years been active in  change processes in connection with mergers and acquisitions, establishment of new entities, closures and restructurings.

Due to Maria’s international activities she has an excellent command of the English language and a fair knowledge of Spanish and French, a profound know-how of intercultural specifics of various cultures – such as the Anglo-Saxon, Asian and Eastern European culture areas. This enables her to extend her coaching activities to clients who are not comfortable communicating in the German language.

Her mottos are “Even the longest way starts out with the first step!” and “No two people walk their  path in the same manner.”
